I haven’t had enough time to explore Ireland fully in the past, and after becoming addicted to Game of Thrones, I now have even more reason return to wander the moody Irish coastlines.
I have been to Dublin twice and made a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher in Galway and another to County Wicklow.

TIME FRAME?

Spend two to three days in Dublin – if you like a drink and a jig you are in the right city.

A visit to the Cliffs of Moher makes for a fantastic day trip from Dublin, but there is so much to explore to the north and south of Dublin, it’s about time I returned to explore properly.

TRAVELLING IRELAND?

Dublin is a very walkable city and relatively flat. I took a bus to and from the Galway and the Cliffs of Moher directly west.

Ireland is a safe and easy country to drive in, and I would recommend hiring a car if you will be exploring for a few days.

MY BEST ADVICE?

Hire a car before arriving in the summer! I was in Dublin in July waiting on a visa at an embassy and wanted to hire a car, and can you believe, there were no cars available in the city! Which is how I found myself on a bus tour to the Cliffs of Moher when I am an explore-it-myself kind of girl!

Don’t miss out on visiting the library at Trinity College – it’s my favourite spot in Dublin.

Avoid talking about leprechauns and pots of gold with the locals… you will receive some serious eye rolls!

Seek out some live music, and of course, Irish dancing!
