Exotic España: a country that is full of sexy dancers, delicious tapas, and Sangria. Eternal sunshine beams down all year on this relaxed Mediterranean country, meaning I truly believe there is never a bad time to travel Spain.
I am fortunate to have travelled across much of Spain. I lived in Barcelona for six months and was in and out of Mallorca for months. I hope you fall in love with Spain as much as I have.

TIME FRAME?
BARCELONA – Four days to a week is best. The longer the better!
MADRID – Two to four days in the busy capital.
BALEARIC ISLANDS – Seven to ten days are needed if you are hopping around the islands; Ibiza, Mallorca and Minorca.
Two to three weeks would allow you to tick off the major cities, and see Seville, Granada, and other smaller cities.
A month or longer will allow you to really enjoy Spain’s cities, countryside, and beaches… Wouldn’t that be the life!
If you are city hopping through Europe, be sure add Barcelona to the top of your list – it is among my top five favourite cities in the world. If I had to pick one place to live in the world for the rest of my days, the relaxed European life would get me on a plane to Palma de Mallorca in a heartbeat.
TRAVELLING SPAIN?
Like the rest of Europe, Spain is best travelled by train, unless you are jumping across the country or to the islands.
There is a high-speed train (AVE) that travels between Madrid and Barcelona in three hours. The Combinado trains can take up to six hours, but there are regular flights between the two cities.
I love the Balearic Islands: Mallorca, Minorca, and Ibiza. These can be reached by ferry from Barcelona, Valencia, and Dénia (in roughly seven and a half hours) or by plane in less than an hour.

MY BEST ADVICE?
My favourite cities to visit in Spain are Barcelona, Seville, and Palma de Mallorca. These three cities are essential.
If you are travelling in summer a lot of the sights you want to see may get booked up, so pre-book tickets for the Sagrada Familia and Park Guell in Barcelona and the Alhambra Palace in Granada, or you might miss out!
Spain is a cheap destination for clothes shopping, and as the home of Zara, there is one on every corner! I find some of the best clothes prices in Europe when in Spain.
Spaniards eat and head out late and you will have to as well if you want to experience any ambiance in restaurants and bars! Turn up at 7pm for dinner and you’ll find empty tables unless it’s full of tourists, the locals sit down at 10pm onwards, then you will be knocking elbows with your neighbours!
Taxis are extremely cheap in Spain, I grab them often!
